Jointly organized by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore and Singapore Polytechnic, the National Software Competition 2008 was held on 13 September 2008 at the Singapore Polytechnic.

In the Algorithm event, our school emerged Champion in the Secondary School Section. The representatives from our High School Section are:

1.   Wong Lin Kit Daniel (4M)
2.   Tan Run Xian (3S3)
3.   Zheng Yi (3S3)


Representatives from the Junior College Section also emerged Champion. They are:

1.   Lim Wei Quan
2.   Lim Wei Zhong
3.   Benjamin Choi


In the Secondary School IT Quiz event, we obtained 2nd Runner-up position. The representatives are:

1.   Lee Chu Yong Mark (3S1)
2.   Xu Jiakun (4N)
3.   Sue Zheng Hao (4O)

Hwa Chong Institution was awarded the Challenge Shield for emerging Champions in the Junior College Algorithm Team Event for 3 consecutive years.
